Sorry about the big gap!
Been super duper busy with a million and one 'mum' things -
non stop full time job haha!

I've made several little bits and pieces in the few spare inbetween moments,
and I'll be sharing them with you very soon!

Home Sweet Home - Boudoir!

After 18 months of living in our house, we've finally got around to sorting out our bedroom! I say 'our' but as you will be able to see from the pictures, its not the most manly of bedrooms, so is often referred to as 'my' bedroom, not 'ours' haha!

Not so long ago, my dad moved abroad, and gave me his lovely white and gold bedroom furniture set, which I adorrrrreee! A couple of weeks later, my lovely mum picked up a beautiful bed frame for just £10 at a carboot to match it, which spurred me on to get crackin' with beautifying the bedroom!

So Mr Peapod and our friend Sam stripped off the delightful (*ahem*) wallpaper (it was that horrific bumpy stuff from the 70s) from the far wall and replaced it with some gorrrrgeous flowery paper that was a pocket friendly 7.99 a roll!

So we've been able to pull together quite a pretty little room out of not much more than about £30! Wahey!

Domestic Goddess?

Do you ever get a craving for naughty foods?
I do most days (Its a mum thing, I reckon)
So in my moment of wanting chocolatey goodness, the mr got sent on a mission to get some cooking chocolate and other such ingredients.
But..
turns out Asda shuts at 8pm on a Saturday.
Did I mention that we live about 3 miles from Asda? And neither of us drive?
Haha!
Luckily Mr Peapod used his noggin and went to the corner shop instead, bringing back with him a 140g bar of Dairy Milk, which not only wasn't really enough for my recipe, but he also ate half of it. Men eh?
So I tried my luck and plodded on with my chocolate truffles recipe anyway (which by now included half a cup of Disaronno)
But as I suspected, there was noooowhere near enough chocolate so I ended up with a saucepan full of chocolatey Amaretto slop....
Trying to look on the bright side of things, I though ''I'll pop it in the freezer, maybe it'll thicken up''

3 Hours later....
I went to have a prod of the concoction and see how it was coming along.
So I scooped some out for an all important taste test and...
....not truffles, but ice cream!

So I ended up with a huge dishful of Chocolate Disaronno ice cream -
Result!

Braces and Bows!

This is the lovely Phoebe!

Her mummy is getting married in just under a week and popped over to show us some photos of her wedding dress (Absolutely stunning!) and while looking at all of the lovely photos of beautiful women in beautiful gowns, Phoebe decided she would like to do some modelling,

So...
Two cups of tea and some reggae reggae chicken later.....

this adorable red gingham bow skirt with braces was born!
It was a very simple little skirt to make, with just a basic elasticated waist, but I think it turned out so cute! Phoebe couldn't wait to try it on, and insisted that she pose in front of the 'flowery' wall.

Very first shiny new post!

Hello!

As of today I'll be using this shiny new blog to share my ideas, creative projects and inspiration with all you lovely people out there in Blog land!

I've seen so many beautiful blogs over the past few years that I thought it was about time I jump on the wagon!

The first of many things to show you (whoever may be looking!) is this fab photoshop picture of me (yes, I am really that small!) and my fella that a friend created for me to use on the 'About Us' section of my website. (www.retropeapod.co.uk)
